Francesco Totti About to Start Working on His Football Coaching Badges

Francesco Totti may have stepped down from his long playing days which saw him make more than 700 appearances for Roma.

At 40 years of age, he was not expected to carry on playing for much longer, but there has been widespread discontent that former manager Luciano Spalletti played a crucial role in his retirement. Regarded as a legend at Roma, fans were extremely sad to see him leave the pitch for the final time.

However, Totti may be able to provide fans with a regular appearance on the dugout, as he has begun his first step towards getting into the world of football coaching.

Totti has started working on his badges and he may enter into coaching, according to his wifeIlary. Even though he is currently appointed as the director at Roma, it appears that Totti would prefer a more hands-on approach with regard to the performance of the team. The club has made a decent start to the 2017-18 season, but it is very much possible that Totti would be entering into coaching midway through the campaign if results do not go as expected.

In doing so, Totti may be entering into the world of coaching in a similar way like Zinedine Zidane, who was appointed as the replacement for the Rafa Benitez midway through the season. The Real Madrid icon then went on to win the La Liga and two Champions League medals in the last 18 months.

“As far as being a Coach in the future, he's always said he didn't want to. Life is full of surprises though, so who knows. I have to get used to the idea of him being a director, it's new to everyone, but I'm not sorry, it seems to me that everything is fine. Among other things he looks good in his jacket and tie,” said Totti’s wife.
