ATLETICO PRESIDENT WOULD LOVE A GRIEZMANN RETURN

Atlético Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has made a sensational admission that he would love to have the club's former attacker Antoine Griezmann back at the club. The France international attacker left the Madrid club and sealed a move to their direct rivals Barcelona some months ago in controversial fashion and to the displeasure of Atletico Madrid fans but it has not stopped the president of the Rojiblancos from wishing that he would love to sign him back.

The 31-year-old was a fans' favorite at the Stadio Metropolitano and was also their best player during the years he spent at the club after signing from Real Sociedad. But he grew discontent with life under Diego Simeone and revealed that he would love to win trophies, leading to his decision of choosing Barca.

Since joining Barcelona, however, he has had a mixed career and is yet to fulfill all of the desires that propelled him to make a switch to the Nou Camp. And according to a new turn of events, the Madrid-based club may try to re-sign him this summer.

Speaking in a recent interview, Cerezo said he loves Griezmann both as a player and a person and would love to sign him back at Atlético Madrid. The president said he knows it would be a hard thing to do because Barcelona would express disinterest in selling the World Cup-winning midfielder, but there could be an interesting twist to the situation.

Barcelona are interested in signing Atletico's Joao Felix and could use their rivals' interest in Griezmann as an opportunity to land the Portuguese attacker. Barca will reportedly be willing to make a player plus cash offer for Felix, with Griezmann set to be used as the bait to get their transfer target in the summer.
